Hi, welcome to my site!
I’m an Alberta-based freelance outdoor writer and photographer who loves spending as much time as possible in the great outdoors whether it’s at home in the Canadian Rockies or anywhere my travels take me! My writing covers a variety of journalism and marketing projects at the local, national and international level with a focus in outdoor recreation, adventure and travel.
Clients include Snowshoemag.com, Calgary Area Outdoor Council (CAOC), The Odyssey (CAOC’s past outdoor recreation rag), Alpine Canada Alpin, Westwinn Group Boat Manufacturers, Calgary Gardener magazine, Boating Industry Canada magazine, Calgary Sun, Calgary Herald and Business in Calgary magazine.
My husband, Rob, and I have lived from one end of the country to the other and traveled far and wide before we settled in Calgary, where we raised two daughters and 2 dogs, and are now making a transition to Banff. Having both worked in Banff in the past and spending most of our free time in the mountains while living in Calgary, we knew we’d end up returning to live in Banff one day.
In my spare time I love to travel, go on crazy adventures, eat great food, drink awesome wine and I work it all off in the great outdoors backpacking, hiking, backcountry and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the fabulous Canadian Rockies.
I’m also a garden consultant with a background in agriculture and 20 years of experience gardening in Alberta and a member of both the Garden Writer’s Association and the Calgary Horticultural Society (CHS).
